Welcome to Red Deer & District Family and Community Support Services

FCSS is the abbreviation for Family and Community Support Services. It is a program offered by The Province of Alberta Ministry of Community and Social Services to local municipalities and Metis settlements. Involvement by the municipality is voluntary.

The Red Deer & District FCSS is made up of 6 Central Alberta municipalities (City of Red Deer, Village of Delburne, Village of Elnora, Town of Bowden, Town of Penhold, and Red Deer County) operating as a single entity within a multi-municipal agreement. This allows for the pooling of resources and a reduction of competition between communities in close proximity to each other. Red Deer & District FCSS receives direction from its Board of Directors which is made up of Council Members from each of the municipalities as well as Community Members from Red Deer.
